Event introduction

Beyond the pitch. Into the next step.

Web Summit brings the global technology and investment ecosystem to Lisbon. But not every viable business looks like a conventional startup, and not every meaningful form of capital arrives as a venture cheque.

MELLA TABLE 4 brings together a carefully prepared cohort of Black and Afro-Lusophone entrepreneurs with people who can invest, commission, advise, distribute, introduce, and open doors.

The evening is designed around one principle: right business, right capital.

Founders will present clear business cases, financial logic, defined needs, and measurable next steps. Investors and partners will meet businesses selected for their potential and prepared for serious conversation.

No performative networking. No charity framing. No conversation that ends when the event does.

Who will be in the room

Founders

Up to five operating businesses reflecting the breadth of the Afro-Lusophone economy—from technology and services to craft, culture, beauty, food, fashion, and manufacturing.

Capital providers

A curated mix of angel investors, funds, banks, corporate buyers, foundations, mentors, and ecosystem leaders offering financial, intellectual, or access capital.

Connectors

Selected policy leaders, media, community leaders, and partners able to strengthen visibility, credibility, and market pathways.

Why attend

If you invest or open doors

  • Discover an under-explored pipeline before the wider Web Summit crowd
  • Meet founders who have completed structured preparation
  • Explore opportunities beyond a narrow technology or VC lens
  • Make targeted commitments suited to each business
  • Build relationships across Portugal's Afro-Lusophone economy

If you are a founder

  • Meet people selected for relevance to your business and ask
  • Present a clear case—not just a short stage pitch
  • Build relationships with investors, buyers, mentors, and ecosystem partners
  • Leave with named next steps and an accountability process

Every useful commitment counts.

Investment matters. So do contracts, equipment finance, customer introductions, distribution, expertise, media access, and the right strategic connection. Every commitment will be documented and followed at 30, 60, and 90 days.

Attendance

MELLA TABLE 4 is a curated, limited-capacity event. Requests will be reviewed to create the strongest possible alignment between participating founders and capital providers.
