MELLA Supply × Strategic Disruption Consulting

Black Capital Exchange

An exchange, because both sides must be prepared.

Right business. Right capital. We work with Black and Afro Lusophone founders to get their real operations investment ready. On the other side, we prepare community backers and institutional allies to deploy capital with clarity.

Two sided readiness

Investment fails when only one side does the work.

Track 1

Preparing the founders

We do not ask viable businesses to dress up as software startups to fit an investor checklist. Through a structured pre selection on the INDEX, we work on actual operations, margins, cash flow and market position. Founders enter the room ready to pitch their real business on clear commercial terms.

Track 2

Preparing the backers and allies

Capital partners need preparation too. In our community there are successful professionals and entrepreneurs with money, knowledge and contracts to deploy who do not yet see themselves as investors. Self investment is new territory, and risk and return need clear frameworks, not emotion.

For institutional allies and funds, we translate. We show where unfamiliarity gets mistaken for risk, and why viable human businesses are a solid commercial opportunity, never charity.

Capital fit

Getting funded is not the objective. Finding capital that fits is.

Capital on the wrong terms can hurt more than no capital at all. So we look at terms, timing, cash flow and governance before any introduction.

Instrument and terms

Not every business needs equity or hyper growth. We look at repayment timing, cash cycles and whether equipment finance, purchase order finance, revenue based funding or equity fits best.

Opportunity readiness

A corporate contract or retail listing without working capital can break a business. Before we make an introduction, we check what it costs to deliver.

Operational rigour

Less generic advice, more concrete work: margins, unit economics, inventory cash flow, contract negotiation and plans for when sales slow down.

Built to last

Cultural relevance and press visibility do not replace a solid balance sheet. We prepare businesses to last, not to impress.

Beyond the tech monoculture

Technology is a tool. People are the business.

We use technology every day. But cultural intelligence, community trust and craft are assets too. Businesses run by people in food, design, production and services need capital that matches how they actually work.
